The successful candidate will identify and develop new channel/partner sales opportunities aligned with Aclara offerings within an assigned market segment/industry (i.e. electric, water, gas). Ensure the development and execution of all key sales strategies through the effective leadership and coaching of channel/partners.



Essential Functions:

  • Assume sales lead responsibility for all channel/partner accounts in an assigned market segment/industry.
  • Increase sales within market segment/industry through channel/partners.
  • Cultivate close working relationships with customers, enabling constructive influence to ensure Aclara as the first choice and providing clients with fit for purpose solutions.
  • Creating or co-developing channel/partner account and geographic plans, administering quarterly/semi-annual/annual reviews of these plans and guiding corrective or contingent actions to insure outcomes are delivered.
  • Manage tactical relationships with consultants and partners.
  • Create and deliver effective sales presentations.
  • Provide solid technical knowledge of all our offerings/products.
  • Foster company working relationships with peers and leaders inside/outside of the sales organization for effective achievement of company goals.
  • Implement and manage distribution agreements (program rewards and co-investment)
  • Monitor monthly business performance, pipeline opportunities and discipline for assigned channel/partner geographies and named accounts.
  • Identify competitive partners based on desire to partner with Aclara.
  • Ensure necessary confidentiality of opportunity, product development and other joint engagements maintained.
  • Prepare and present all required reports to upper management.
  • Performs all other functional duties and responsibilities as required by management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Continuously update assigned channel/partner account information in
  • Participate in all sales meetings, conferences, trade shows and regional trade association meetings as required.
  • Use all tools provided by company to manage, adapt sales strategies and track account activities.
  • Prepare and present all required reports to upper management.
  • Performs all other functional duties and responsibilities as required by management.



  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry related sales experience.
  • Self-motivated; possesses ability to work independently without daily supervision.
  • Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong influencing and persuading skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.


  • Advanced understanding of channel/partner sales market.
  • Basic knowledge of metering and meter reading technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex situations and concepts to translate strategies into actions.
  • Results driven with accountability to deliver business results for self and team.
  • Consistently evaluates performance to challenge the status quo.
  • Develops strong working relationships.
  • Effective communicator both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced setting.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent travel is expected. (More than 50% of the role).
