As the leader in smart grid technology and service, Aclara integrates modern communications, electronics and analytics for use by utilities to increase data gathering that enables more refined control, management and automation in efforts to improve efficiency, reliability and overall performance of electric, water and gas networks.

Responsibilities

 

  • Works across engineering to identify and bridge gaps in projects identified by engineering management.Interacts and coordinates outside of engineering to solve cross functional problems.
  • Coordinates engineering prototype builds.
  • Uses technical and leadership expertise to manage projects of various size and scope, identifying opportunities for improving processes and driving the project to completion.
  • Supports external engineering support service relationships and provides process consistency to outsourcing efforts.
  • Troubleshoots issues and coordinates solutions with internal and external engineering teams and partners/suppliers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Reports key statistics to stakeholders within the organization. 
  • This includes managing and reporting on change requests, managing the execution of maintenance action items, and administration of other related activities.
  • Creates schedules, establishes critical path and priorities, works independently and proceeds with objectives with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience on an engineering product development team.
  • Experience identifying and defining stakeholder needs.
  • Experience developing effective and efficient problem solutions.
  • Experience developing and launching products to high volume production.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management and communication skills.
  • Must have experience with six sigma and lean processes.

Preferred:

  • PMP or other Project Management certifications.
  • Certification in six sigma and lean processes.
  • Strong professional etiquette and ability to defuse and resolve conflicts.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is a team-player and supports the success of others.
  • Experience in complex electronic devices.

 

Physical Demand:

  • Ability to travel <20%.
