Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Interact in a team environment and work with others to achieve the best possible end-product from all functional viewpoints.
  • Serve as the RF subject matter expert to synthesize design inputs from various stakeholders and define overall system behaviors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to validate resulting RF system performance against customer requirements.
  • This requirement includes the development and implementation of design verification and production test procedures.
  • Implementation of new designs into high volume production; including technology watch, product design specification, feasibility evaluation and validation testing.
  • Ensure that all designs exceed requirements of governing agencies such as, but not limited to, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Industry Canada (IC), Factory Mutual (FM).
  • Support field issues and product returns.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying process and technology improvements.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Applied Math.
  • Experience and technical capabilities with: Electromagnetic Wave Theory, Transmission Line Theory.,Antenna Theory, RF Circuit Theory, RF measurement techniques, Link budget development.

  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Applications.
  • Desire for continuous learning and to integrate new technologies as they become available.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree with a focus on RF and/or Antenna development.
  • Familiarity with FCC (Federal Communication Commission) part 90, part 15, and associated regulations for licensed and ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) band products.
  • CST Microwave Studio.
  • Low power RF circuit design.
  • Experience with PCB layout for microwave applications.
  • PLL (Phase Locked Loop) circuit design.VCO (Voltage Control Oscillator) design.
  • RF amplifier design-class A, AB, C and others.
  • Design of RF filter and matching sections.
  • Receiver design using LNA (Low Noise Amplifiers)-down converters.
  • Experience with the AMI industry.
  • Experience and technical capabilities with: Analog design of high speed A/D (Analog/Digital), Digital signal processing, Antenna design, Switch mode power supply RF design.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Normal Office/Lab environment (standing and sitting).
  • Negligible travel.
